Desk Thursday

This is such an illustration of my life at the moment; when the baby is asleep, trying to decide what to do. Shall I eat or nap? Shall I watch a bit of telly or try to catch up on some work I started before the baby? All of the above?

Today, I got out the little mock-up of a book I was working on - working title 'Bird on a Wire'. I can't wait to make it but who knows when I will.

  1. Hmmm-just be good to yourself-just take care, its such a special time- I wish now I had taken better care of myself during the early baby days...your little book looks lovely anyway-why do we love birds so much?is it becuase they are good nesters or because they can fly away whenver they feel like it?or both?

  2. And yes, chill woman! You've just had a baby! I know you're probably dying to get stuck in again but I think you should probably just buy a nice moleskine and make detailed notes (if you must) and get down to carrying them out at a later date.. Your Bird on a Wire looks gorgeous but taker your time xxx

  3. I agree that things like sleep and food are, you know, quite important...but when you have a new baby, sometimes, just having achieved one tangible thing at the end of the day is so good for the soul and a reminder that the real you is still in there somewhere...

It looks lovely so far anyway x

  4. Must be difficult sometimes... I already have so many time-management problems, and I don't even have children! I hope you'll find some time to work on another gorgeous project!

  5. Love your little book :) Looks like another favourite in the making. I think I'd actually agree to anything in order to have those beautiful plates though! ;) They are such a find! We can all say whatever we want but then we all know you're not the one calling the shots! ;) Kids have a way of taking over, don't they? Looking forward to seeing your new book whenever it all happens... :) K

  9. So glad you answered the question about lemons! I can't wait to see the bird book when it is finished and I will wait for as long as it takes. Those yummy babies do know how to cuddle and steal time.
