Wip - Canal Life

I'm working on a new print and/or pattern based on the canal life that inspired me a few weeks ago. I've been doing a bit of research and I love that the folky style that appears on the boats and all the paraphernalia is called Roses and Castles. You can read some history here, and here are some sketches.

  2. I love the way we're nearly always on the same page in one way or another. While I was in Amsterdam I bought this little red cardigan, kind of fair-isley, with canal boat roses all over it.

This print is going to be something quite special - those wonky diamonds are especially nice.

  4. Loving both of these WIP so much - so colourful (love the palette) with great patterns. Great to see you're back in your flow.
I'm not surprised you're drawn to canal boats, considering where you grew up. Have you been to Springfield park?, it was near our old house, we used to go there often, plus it's by the canal and there's Tottenham Marshes too, thats near and a lovely walk along the canal... maybe we could a summer hols day trip there?, my boys love picking all the blackberries.
